World Space Week celebrations are organized every year from October 4 to 10. Each year, the celebration upholds a theme decided by the UN General Assembly. VSSC, LPSC, IISU & IIST jointly organize WSW celebrations to spread the message about space science and technology and reach out to the student community in the State of Kerala aimed at creating awareness among the students and general public.
The theme of World Space Week 2026 is “Rocket Revolution”. The theme looks at how launch systems are evolving and how those changes are affecting access to space. It includes areas such as reusable launch vehicles, lower launch costs, increased launch frequency and the involvement of commercial and academic organizations.
READ MORE →As part of World Space Week 2026, we are pleased to offer interactive lecture sessions on "Space Technology" for students across the State of Kerala. Both on-campus and online sessions will be available between October 4th and October 10th, 2026. Lectures will be delivered by esteemed scientists from various centres of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), including VSSC, LPSC, IISU and IIST either in person or through online mode, which will be decided by ISRO.
World Space Week 2026 offers a unique opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity and talent. This event gives you the Space to present your thoughts on the topic "Space Technology for Sustainable local development" through a video presentation. Interested schools may select the applicable option provided in the website . Only one entry is permitted from one school.
